Author Checklist for Scientific Manuscript Submission

Submitting your manuscript to a scientific journal for review is a tremendous achievement in itself but is also incredibly stressful. The calibre of the journal that accepts your work will directly impact your career progression, and thus it is crucial that your submission is flawless.  If you ensure that the formatting, structure, and presentation are perfect, the reviewers’ job is made far easier and they are more likely to review your work favourably. The journal will usually provide author guidelines and advice on their website, but for the final check, we have gathered together general journal requirements so that you can be confident that your work is perfect before submission. For more information, please read our advice on journal-specific requirements.

Blood Type and Diet ? Weight Loss & Optimal Health

For years I had questions about connections between the immune system, diet and disease. Through medical school and countless weekend seminars I learned about some of the most intricate workings of the human body. It is commonly understood by most patients and health professionals that our daily diet has an effect on our overall health and well being. Never did I hear exacting statements and scientific proof that explained HOW and WHY. Nutrition classes in schools teach about vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats and carbohydrates. For years (even long before I went to chiropractic school) I wandered from “here to there” wondering what the best “diet” might be. Obviously I am talking about a nutrition regimen and not necessarily about a diet to lose weight. Over the course of 12 years I tried every diet I learned about: the McDougall Diet, Fit For Life, Macrobiotics, The Atkins Diet, Fasting, even vegetarianism for 2 1/2 years! You name the diet and I probably tried it!

The changes technology brought to our lives

Technology has definitely transformed our lives in a lot of ways. Even as I am typing this in a bus, I realized that I would not be doing this if it was 5 years ago, where broadband service was not common among our community. Such is the changes that technology bring into our community that no longer do our lifestyle remains the same as it used to. The same can be said regarding how technology changes our education system and the management being run around the world. People are always connected through the internet and almost everything could be search with a click of the mouse. However, it took quite a while for technology to impact the lives of our disabled community. It was only recently that we heard about Powerchairs or mobility scooters. Before this, all we heard of were crutches and wheelchairs, which required very little of the development of technology. The technology development has led to the invention of mobility scooters, rise and recline chairs, electric wheelchairs and many others to help the community. This development in the aid for the disabled has been partly thanks to the effort and innovation contributed by companies such as Pride, Days, Shoprider, Drive Medical, Electric Mobility and many others. These changes have helped many of the disabled to find some confidence in themselves as they are capable to move around more independently with these growth. It would be great to see how technology can continue to change our lives for the better.
